Mixed Drink Monday: Raspberry Oatmeal Smoothie

We were back on our Friday Smoothie routine and it was wonderful.  Mostly because we had our first full day at home in TWO weeks.  We've been waaaay too busy lately which has been mostly wonderful but also exhausting and a little stressful.  With a drive-in date Friday and a wedding on Saturday, we didn't try a new alcoholic beverage for the second week in a row!  What is the world coming to.  I really don't know.

Luke decided the chapstick needed to go for a ride in the car?  Can't explain the mind of a two year old.
Raspberry Oatmeal Smoothie
yield: good adult and kid sized serving
Ingredients
-1/2 cup ice
-1/2 cup frozen raspberries
-1/2 cup yogurt
-1/2 cup coconut water
-1/4 cup old fashioned oats
-1 banana

-1 TB honey

Directions
Put everything in a blender and blender until smooth.

My Thoughts
I liked how easily this mixed up.  Some weeks it's a lot of manual stirring between running the blender to get everything mixed right.  I had used a non-frozen, starting to get too many brown spots, banana instead of a frozen one which may have been part of it.  The being easy to mix part was a trade-off to having a pretty thin smoothie, this was more a beverage than smoothie consistency.  BUT Luke and I both enjoyed it.  Maybe one of the better ones we've tried?  No weird flavors, no horrible coconut-almond milk, it used up some of my yogurt.  Overall this was a win-win.
