We're in London!! Haven't seen anything real London-y yet besides the underground (which we navigated just fine). Took about 5 hours from leaving our last B&B (in Stow-on-the-Wold). Drive should have only take about 2 hours but ended up in a traffic jam that added over an hour. Then turned in the car, got a shuttle to Heathrow, took the tube here (had to switch lines even!), then walk about 1/2 mile here. It was quite a journey. Getting around takes a lot of time.
For instance, the trip from our house to our first B&B took 22 hours: drive to FWA, checkin and wait, hour flight to Chicago, take tram to international terminal (seriously a mile away), re go through security, 7 hour flight to Dublin, immigration, pick up luggage, checkin, security, hour flight to Heathrow, shuttle to pick up car, picked up car, drive to Sherborne. Yeah, I told Matt I was very proud of us for making it that far!!
Yesterday we did a very nice hike in the Cotswold, gorgeous views of rolling hills and my ankle held up very well!!
Had a very nice B&B last night. It's a good way to travel because we've gotten wonderful breakfasts and great conversations with both sets of owners.
Now, London!! I think we're going to head out to see Kensington Palace soon and then probably supper. Breakfasts have been so big we haven't needed much lunch.
Pictures are either Sherborne or Stow (I can't remember) and then view outside our window here. Lots and lots more pictures on the cameras. =)
