Looking Back at November 2023

Happy December!  It's my favorite time of the year and I'm trying to soak it all in between also trying to get a million things done.  I had planned to write a post about those million things (because I did find it helpful when Kelsey did that!) but then in the midst of trying to finish things...I didn't get to the post and now by the time I might...I may (hopefully) have many of them done!  But...we're 2.5 weeks out from Christmas and I'm feeling pretty good with all my prep.  And I really do love the prep.  When I finish writing this post I am going to hunt for some boxes and then turn on The Holiday and get to wrapping which I am VERY excited about.  I do enjoy wrapping until I have oddly shaped or large items.  We have some cookies baked, just some little decorating left to do (hanging lights that I have been putting off for 10 days), and some shopping left.  Trying to soak it all in while we have the anticipation of Christmas still ahead of us!

Looking back:
1 year ago: Christmas Picture Books - Saints
2 years ago: {10} Item Christmas Gift List (I forgot about doing one of these!)
3 years ago: {10} Item Christmas Gift List (let's look at the first one too!)
4 years ago: Fall Life Energy List
5 years ago: Viva Las Vegas!
6 years ago: {7} Favorite Kitchen Gadgets (we still have almost all of these and have replaced with near identical the ones we don't!)
7 years ago: Refinishing the Porch Floor
8 years ago:
{4} Ingredient Home Style Potato Soup (I am having this for lunch and have a bunch more frozen for future lunches!)
9 years ago: Helpful Hints: Make New Candles, Get Rid of the Old (I still do this every January)
10 years ago:
Christmas Treats: Jam Filled Butter Cookies

1) Still some fall color hanging around through the first part of November!
2) And again!
3) Did a bike ride downtown to see Santa being put up.  We've managed this the last few years - always feels special to have nice enough weather to bike to see Santa!
4) A pretty tree on that bike ride.
5) Oh look, more trees.
6) And more! (Me and the trees are done now.)
7) Breakfast date with Matt downtown at GK Cafe.  That was delicious.
8) Mid November and things were decorated!  Makes me so excited.
9) Bought this puzzle at Kennedy Space Center this summer and it took me nearly 2 months to do.  It was HARD.
10) This Lego set (a birthday present) was much easier.   I can't kill these orchids.
11) Helped my son's grade at JA BizTown!  He was in City Hall so that's where I was assigned to help.  It was fun but exhausting.
12) Santa is all lit up!
13) The wreath too!
14) We grew all but 2 of these (and some more that aren't pictures and/or had already been composted) and I loved seeing them out the kitchen window all fall before they headed to the pigs.
15) One of our three Thanksgiving meals and they were all delicious.
16) And getting out ALL my trees to decorate for Christmas!  I LOVE decorating for Christmas!

Books finished: 15! Helped by reading with my boys...
Miles ran:
10.65, not a lot and now I think I'm done for a few months!
Currently watching:
We're back on It's Always Sunny although still a few seasons behind.  Terrible people but hilarious and sometimes just laughing feels good.
Most read post this month: October reading recap followed by Travel: Cuyahoga Valley National Park (that is not what I expected!)
Luke's current favorite song:
Probably "Bury me in Georgia" or something else country.
Sam's current favorite song: "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" by Andy Williams.  He LOVES it.

December is CHRISTMAS more Christmas and prepping for it first.  It's the most wonderful time of the year!
