Things I Like - June

I always enjoy hearing what works for other people and I like sharing things I like, it's part of the reason I have a blog.  I've been doing these monthly posts for 10 years and they also provide a nice little snapshot in my life at a moment in time! See more here!  Some affiliate links may be included!

1) TekGear running shorts
I bought these on something of a whim last fall, mainly because they were in the "blue crayon" color that I like from TekGear.  I didn't actually run in them until this summer and they are fantastic!  A big part of the appeal is that they have zippered pockets which my first pair of running shorts didn't have (....and I still only have 2 pairs of shorts after 8 years of pretty solid running).  That means I don't have to hold a key when I run! And I can take an extra tissue along too!  Plus, they don't move around when I run and are very comfortable.  Definitely nice having a second pair.  (I do have more than 2 sports bras and a variety of tanks and tees, it's just the shorts I'd wear a lot between washes.)

2) Madewell Northside Vintage Tee
I had been wanting some more crew neck t-shirts that worked for occasions where I wanted to be slightly more dressy than a t-shirt t-shirt.  I forget how I found this one on Zappos but the color was perfect and the fit is fantastic.  I hadn't ordered from there before but it was free shipping and very easy returns for the extra size I bought (wasn't sure how the fit would be, I didn't want tight).  Again, I will buy too many things I find in this color but the shirt is just what I wanted to add to my dresser.

3) Kroger Sea Salt Caramel Truffle Ice Cream
We recently went to Kings Island which always comes with a lot of reminiscing about our many past trips there, particularly all the ones Matt & I did together.  Back when we were going annually, the park was owned by Paramount and had a lot of their theming.  There was a 3-D Spongebob movie in the back that we did every. single. year. as a break from the heat and standing.  It was like 8 minutes long or something and was the same every time.  I'm not really a Spongebob person but we liked that little break in our day.  It must have been shortly after one of those trips, when Matt was with me in Dayton, that we found Spongebob ice cream at Walmart (where I did all my grocery shopping at the time) and we bought it because of that little Kings Island movie.  It turned out to be delicious and I have thought about it SO MANY TIMES in the nearly 20 years since.  ALL THIS TO SAY...this ice cream from Kroger tastes VERY MUCH like what I remember Spongebob ice cream to taste like and man, there is a very special and lovely delight in refinding a taste that you thought you had lost.  Also, just good.

4) Cayman Jack Margaritas
I've been changing up my alchol lately, after many years of drinking hard ciders.  These were a somewhat impulsive purchase at Kroger and they turned out to be DELIGHTFUL.  I love a margarita but don't always want to go through the work of making one.  And maybe don't have the necessary limes to make them.  These scratch that itch but with less work.  Matt likes them too, we nearly only have them together.

5) Smirnoff Lemonades
These were something I tried when I wanted a break from my hard ciders but also am rather picky about what flavors of things I'll try.  I will not drink cherry or watermelon, both of which pop up in a lot in mixed cases like this.  These are very easy to drink and I actually like all the flavors!  Peach might be my favorite but they are all good, which is rare when I buy a mixed pack like this.  These have been a good addition to the fridge this summer.

What have YOU been liking lately??
