{10} Years of Marriage: Lesson One
I give engaged couples all the same advice:
1) Have food in your room for after your wedding (or the next morning). I believe we checked out of our room at about 8:30am after a reception that was over at midnight because we were STARVING and had no food. Make sure you have something to eat. You will likely not get to each much of that food you picked out for the reception.
2) Don't leave for your honeymoon the morning after your wedding. Just don't do it. You'll be paying $$$ to sleep somewhere. Even if you go into your wedding with plenty of sleep there is something about all the WEDDING! Adrenaline that is EXHAUSTING. Give yourselves a day to sleep (and pack, preferably starting the second earlier than midnight for a 6am flight...just saying...)
3) If you are going somewhere warm for your honeymoon, WEAR SUNSCREEN. We didn't and our poor Indiana skin in mid-May was not ready for Mexican sun. I was almost purple I was so burnt. Just wear sunscreen.
