My monthly round-up of 5 things I'm liking, all affiliate link free. =) See more here!
1) Wonder Woman
You guys, this movie was fantastic. We don't see many movies outside of the drive-in (and Star Wars) in the theater but we saw this (sans Luke) for our 15 year (!!!) dating anniversary, going back to the theater where we had our first date. It was fantastic. Represented the Diana name well. =) I just can't say enough good things about it. Wonder Woman was kick-butt. The story was good, all the set design and anything was great (set during WWI). It was a little reminiscent of the first Captain America with historical setting and both main characters being out of their normal but it was still great. Highly recommend.
2) Mossimo Lina Slide Sandals
I wore these gold slides and a blue tank top to see Wonder Woman, as much costume as I'll ever get. They are super comfortable and I was really surprised at how much I like the gold. I've been buying one new pair of cheap(ish) Target sandals a year (even though I haven't had to trash any yet so I don't really need a new pair) and I got these on super sale. Just a fun new thing for summer!
3) Sorta Awesome podcast
I'm all about the podcasts (I subscribe to 11, although most seem to be on a break for summer which means I am downloading a lot of back episodes!) and this is a fun new one (for me). There are 4 co-hosts and they talk about all sorts of woman-y issues (not that guys can't listen but it's hosted by all women and I don't see it appealing much to guys...there was some feminine product talk in the episode I was listening to today). There was an adoption episode that was great (#94), one about all things awesome about summer (#103 and I recommended here), and one about healthy and awesome habits (#91).
4) Nordstrom Lush Knit Maxi Dress
This came highly recommended from Putting Me Together and I'm so glad I bought it (when on sale). It's a fantastic color (I love all things blue) and is fully lined and super comfortable. It feels like wearing pjs, if I wore pjs like this. As I write this, I'm planning on wearing it to my sister's rehearsal dinner (maybe with those gold Target slides) and I'm pretty excited about it. One of my more expensive (non wedding or bridesmaid) dress purchases but I think it'll stick around for awhile.
5) Cinnamon Raisin Toast
I was thinking of what else I should include this month while eating this toast and it was literally staring right at me. I don't eat a lot of bread. I generally eat brats and burgers with a fork and just don't seem to reach for it often. I don't like how it makes me feel so full (and tired).. But this stuff. SO GOOD. I buy it at Aldi and only let myself eat it on days I run and think I need some extra food, not the healthiest choice but it's delicious and my reward.
