Looking Back at May 2023

May held A LOT.  There was our 17th wedding anniversary, a drive-in date, watching the coronation, getting POURED ON biking home from a baseball game, lots of zoo trips, Mother's Day, EVERYTHING that comes with the end of the school year, our first camping trip of 2023, Memorial Day weekend, the beginning of summer and a trip to Kings Island.  Which should have happened yesterday but I am writing this before that so I am just going to assume that we had a wonderful time and no kids were traumatized by roller coasters this year.

Looking back:
1 year ago: Sewing a Pennant
2 years ago: {4} Books That Have Changed What I Thought About Being Green
3 years ago: Homemade Honey Margaritas (I still make these and they are delicious)
4 years ago: {5} Surprising Benefits of the pre-8am School Run (I wrote this in the final days of Luke's kindergarten year!)
5 years ago: Reflections on Mother's Day (one of my favorite posts I've written)
6 years ago: Fun with Flamingos (I've loved doing these shopping posts)
7 years ago: Hawaii: Oahu (our first vacation we took post-honeymoon and maybe my favorite of all the ones that followed)
8 years ago: A
New (Hope) Chest (still looks like this!)
9 years ago: Dollar Decorating: Practically Free Organizing Boxes (I still have and use these all over the house)
10 years ago:
An Ode to our (Former) Jet Skis (this hits different not, nearly a year out from selling our jet ski that replaced these)
11 years ago:
Big Day in London - 1 (as I work on this I am listening to a podcast that is talking about the royals RIGHT NOW.  And the royals were a driving force behind our visiting London.)
12 years ago:
5 years =)

1) Making margarita mix and coconut rimming salt!
2) Jellyfish at the zoo with Sam!
3) Drive-in date for our anniversary
4) Up early to watch King Charles' coronation, with treats.
5) Margaritas in the backyard!
6) First sno-cones of the year
7) Beer at baseball, before the rain
8) Lilacs!  One of the best smells.
9) Bought a ton of flowers and still had to go back for more!
10) Donuts in the park one morning...
11) And tea (with breakfast and sisters) the next morning!
12) Gem mining at camping!  Boys love this.
13) Camping, I love it.
14) Quick stop at Lake Michigan since we were camping so close!
15) This is the day I learned we had an iris...
16) Corn on the cob!  One of the best tastes of summer.

Books finished: 11, May is crazy, 11 feels like an accomplishment!
Miles ran:
34.85, finally beat my former self at something, more miles than I ran last May!
Currently watching:
Should be finishing up Ted Lasso this weekend and then I don't know what's next!
Most read post this month: April Reading Recap followed by Fizzy Flamingo (I am still baffled this that is, by double, my post read drink post).
Luke's current favorite song: "Sweet Child o' Mine" by Guns n' Roses
Sam's current favorite song: "We Will Rock You" by Queen

June is full summer, camping, Father's Day, sleeping in, more reading?  We'll see!  Happy we're still at the start of summer!
