Things I Like - May 2024

I always enjoy hearing what works for other people and I like sharing things I like, it's part of the reason I have a blog.  I've been doing these monthly posts for 10 years and they also provide a nice little snapshot in my life at a moment in time! See more here!  Some affiliate links may be included!

1) Tube Crimper
This is a thing that I didn't even realize was a thing until recently and then I added it to our amazon cart immediately.  Then it arrived and I crimped as many things as I could.  Much less toothpaste/anything else in a tube waste!  It was very exciting.  It doesn't stay perfectly crimped on the end towards the product but you can always run it through again as you use up more.  Less waste is very exciting.

2) Aldi lanterns

My 3 year old niece helped me decide I needed to impulse buy these when she was shopping at Aldi with me at the beginning of the month.  I couldn't decide between colors so we decided on all three and it was SO FUN the first night we had them out and they popped on when it got dark.  All solar charged and they are light sensitive so turn on when it's dark and off when they run out of power (they've never been on in the morning, I don't know if they have an hour limit or anything).  These are just fun and cast neat shadows on the picnic table.

3) Over door hooks
I bought these after reading some blog post about camping hacks.  It feels like cabin camping is very untraditional (nearly all the camping merch is for trailers or tents) but it really feels like the best way to camp right now with our family.  We've used these on the only camping trip we've taken since I bought them, which was earlier this month.  Most of the doors in the cabins are pocket doors but our bedroom door is almost always a swing door and that's where I used these.  I hung up our laundry bag, my sweatshirt, and my purse.  I didn't use all 6 but it was nice to have a few more things off the floor!  We'll see how many cabin configurations we can use them in.

4) ON Floral Tank Top
I own quite a few of these Old Navy luxe swing tank tops and they've all become staples in my closet.  This is the one that caught my eye this year (I returned the other 2 I ordered with it) and I'm really happy with it.  It feels a bit less loose than some other ones I've bought over the years but still not anywhere near tight on me.  I size down in these because they are pretty swingy.  And the florals are fun, I don't have any other floral tank tops!

5) Deodorant remover
These are another winner recommendation from Sherry at Young House Love.  The dreaded deodorant marks from changing post putting on deodorant (some days it feels like I wear 6 different outfits between workouts running, PJs, etc.).  These are an easy way to erase those marks.  Something I didn't even know would be helpful but they are!
