Paneling project

This project (shocker) has turned out to be a much bigger project than we first thought.  I'm estimating Matt & I each have about 30 hours in it (not including shopping) and we're not nearly done.  Let see...

Monday we pulled down more plaster, Matt replaced some insulation in the attic that had been pulled out, and replaced some insulation in the outside wall.

By the end of the night it didn't look much different but we were making progress.  Our major accomplishment for the night was figuring out how to dust proof the house since I will never again have the mess we had last Saturday. Every doorway in the stairs was covered (2 on our room), I cleared out most everything on the kitchen counters and covered everything else with plastic, and I stuffed cracks with plastic bags.  It worked and we're mostly able to contain the mess to the stairs.  We just live in a tent right now.

We didn't work much on the project the rest of the week, instead we worked on cleaning the house (sooo needed).  All that's left (besides the stairs which is actually fairly clean considering) is the kitchen cupboards, the basement, and the extra bedroom (which I've started on but it's a mess still).  We're getting there.

Saturday we finally started with the drywall.  Corey came to help for a few hours (really needed it with some of the ceiling pieces) and by the end of the night the entire upstairs was done and most of the stairs.  We went until we were out of drywall.

  Upstairs all drywalled

How we finished on Saturday night

Today (Sunday) went to Lowes for more drywall (more help from Corey) and Matt & I hung 3 more pieces to completely finish the stairs.  We just need to do the lower landing and the downstairs ceiling.

Where we finished on Sunday night

This project sucks but we are slowly making progress.  We hope to finish the drywall tomorrow (besides the ceiling, which we'll need help on) and then start mudding on Tuesday.  I hope to get primer/paint on the walls next weekend...but we still need to buy that and decide on a color.  Sooo...we'll see.  My original completion goal of Thanksgiving won't happen but if we're just down to paint, trim, and carpet I will be very happy. =)
