Spring/Summer 2019 Shopping List

I almost forgot about this post this spring!  Usually giving up discretionary spending for Lent has me itching to spend money and planning to spend money as soon as Easter hits.  I don't know what was different about this year but I didn't have quite the itch.  Which is why this post is a month later than usual (I'm sure everyone noticed).  So my spring/summer shopping list is really more a summer shopping list and I may have already purchased about half the items on the list.  Maybe that shopping itch just manifested itself into warmer weather clothes.

I still buy a decent amount of my clothes from ThredUp but placing fewer orders than in the past.  I wrote a whole post about them a couple years ago.  I am very pleased with some things I've bought there!

First up, reviewing what I planned to buy for last fall/winter:

1) Fun Flats
I did not buy these although they might be showing up on my spring list again.

2) Tan Sweater
Thank you, ThredUp.

3) 2ish Colored Sweaters

I did buy two sweaters, this Old Navy one from ThredUp and then another Old Navy one from Old Navy.  I really like Old Navy sweaters, they usually hold up for frequent wear over many seasons!  But I don't have a picture of the other because Old Navy doesn't keep all their product pictures on their website indefinitely like ThredUp does.  Just imagine a sweater...there you go.

4) 2ish Long Sleeved Tees
I am counting 3 as 2ish.  These are all from ThredUp and I even wore the one in the middle today! (Today as I am writing this, prayers it's too warm for a long sleeve tee when this posts in 2 weeks!)

5) Another Pair of Old Navy Rockstars

I bought these and also wore them today! (Again, the today I am writing, not posting.)  I really like Old Navy Rockstars too.  There is a lot of cheap clothes at Old Navy but jeans and sweaters (and puffer vests) have (mostly) all been good to me.

6) Christmas Dress
I forgot all about this one until right before Christmas.  I didn't buy one!  And, again, I have no pictures of myself on Christmas Eve so I'm not even sure what I wore!

What else did I buy?

Cutting out direct replacement items (which was two items), I only bought TWO things.  I am overly proud of this.  Jeans which I turned out to not be overly fond of (which is why I wore them to the drive-in, didn't care so much if they got muddy) and a J. Crew long sleeved tee I actually bought from J. Crew, not ThredUp.

I have gotten SO MUCH BETTER at shopping less. (I am very proud of this.)

Spring/Summer 2019 Plan

1) Navy Wedges
They've been on my list for YEARS AND....I FINALLY GOT THEM.  From J. Crew.  I am really excited about these.  Less excited about the blisters they gave me when I first wore them.

2) Floral Top
I bought this one, J. Crew via ThredUp.

3) 3ish Short Sleeved Tees
I have really got to stop buying these, I already purchased all 3 shown, two of them last fall (I wore one in Vegas) which really means they should go on my "extra" items list but I am putting them here.  I have a solid collection of short sleeved tees I like so I need to be done buying these until some get worn out.  Not all my short sleeved tees are blue striped...but these all are.  I have a type.

4) Fun Flats
Now I am thinking coral ones and have some I am considering on Amazon (I seem to be incapable of spending much more than $20 on flats).  But I like the idea of having "fun" flats on days I wear a striped top (since I can't mix my striped flats with my striped tops...I own a lot of stripes).

5) 2ish Tank Tops
I wear these a lot in the summer when the weather cooperates and it's nice to add a couple to my collection ever year.  I have not purchased these yet, shocking.

6) Joggers
I put these on my list last year and then didn't find any.  I'm trying again with cropped joggers and bought these on Amazon but have yet to try them on (I procrastinate doing this for weeks).  We'll see if they are what I've had in mind!
__________________________________________________________
That's it!  Which since I bought over half this list already means I shouldn't be shopping much this summer!  Which would be nice, maybe mostly because I procrastinate trying things on FOREVER so not having that nagging task in the back of my mind is a relief!  Also sticking to a budget and not overfilling my closet and all those other things I like to write about.  Just good all around!
